President David Granger will be addressing the City Council's Statutory meeting at 14:00 hours today. The occasion will see a special parade by ranks of the City Constabulary Department in honour of the President.
This is the first time President Granger is addressing the full council.
This meeting comes at a time when the council is embroiled is a public dispute over the proposed parking meter project for Georgetown.
In a recent statement on the matter the President had indicated that the proposed parking fees would be too burdensome.
He had also expressed disappointment with the way the council was handling the people's affairs noting that, it was for this reason that he had ordered a revision of the agreement.
It is anticipated that the head of state will highlight his concerns to the council, when he addresses them today.
