Banks DIH looking to increase profits in 2013

Guyana’s beverage giant Banks DIH Limited has announced plans to increase profitability for the financial year 2012 to 2013.

The Chairman of Banks DIH Board of Directors, Clifford Reis notes that the company continues to face increase competition from competing brands of beverages and foods products.  Addressing shareholders on the company’s performance for the Finanical year 2011-2012, Reis said there must be continued loyalty and commitment from consumers.

He said the consistent hard work of employees has led to increased sales of 14 per cent and translates into 14, 852, 236 boxes of items that were sold and distributed.

 “An increase of 1.9 billion pieces of items products sold from this company, this is achieved as a result of our quality brands and we endeavour to offer products and service of international standard. Our pre-selling distribution systems and multifaceted campaigns along with rums contribute to this superb achievement.”

The company will control its expenses in all areas of operations the chairman noted, adding that the continued success of the company will depend on managements’ response to the needs of the emerging middle class market.

The new frontier is the company’s motto for the financial year.

In the financial year 2012-2013, the company plans to increase its revenue and profits, these will result through the physical sales and introduction of new products R1 Ice, Lemon Lime and Bitters, packaging of soft drinks the continuations of efforts in the export of rum, beer and the investment in capital products and continuation of management structures on a monthly basis.”

The chairman assured shareholders that the company will ensure that quality service and products remains a priority.
