An intelligence led operation by a team of police ranks from Timehri led to the discovery and destruction of three acres of marijuana field.

According to a reliable source close to the police, the ranks were on a River Patrol in the Lana, Haruruni Area, Demerara River around 10 hours 30 on Thursday when they were tipped off about the illegal activity.

The three acre field consisted of 500 plants 6 to 7 feet in height.

The weight is 1750 kg with an estimated value of GY$315M .

Investigations are ongoing.
